Independent Professional Therapists International (member). Based at: Rose Carr Reiki Centre. My View of Reiki: I came into Reiki because I could not believe that it would work. It has, however, been proved to me, over and over, that it does. For me, Reiki is very simple. Reiki, the energy, comes to a client in response to a need, not a want. I see my role as helping my clients take a greater control / responsibility for their own lives and health. I do this, in a 'healing' context, by transfering / channeling / downloading energy for the use of, and in response to, a client's need. Very little is needed to do this except a client request, an intention to transfer the energy , and two hands. Anything else is not essential. I offer this to any one in need, if they request it but only after we have met and discussed it and both agree that it is appropriate. I do this, in a 'teaching' context by offering attunements (healing with the intent of opening / establishing a channel in others, specifically teaching Reiki techniques, giving advice and offering ongoing professional support. I offer this at all levels up to and including master level (healing and teaching) but only after we have met and discussed it and only then if we both believe that it is appropriate.
