Thomas was born in the Bay Area of California and now resides in the Seattle Area of Washington State. As a child his study of Tae Kwon Do (Korean Martial Art) was his first introduction to Asian culture. When he was twenty years old he began an eleven month apprenticeship in Shintō, Aikidō and Misogi with Rev. Koichi Barrish of Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America in Granite Falls, Washington. This intense work with Barrish-sensei was his first view into the spiritual world. Later he studied for a year under Rev. Imanaka Taijo of Sojiji Temple (総持寺) and Seattle Koyasan Buddhist Temple in Shingon-shū (真言宗). In 2008, Thomas received his Reiki Shinpinden (Master Practitioner) certificate and ordination in the Universal Life Church of Natural Healing from the late Rev. Ken Smith M.Ed. (Snowtop). Thomas has been ordained as a minister through the Universal Life Church and provides Reiki by donation only. In his free time he enjoys meditation, hiking in the beautiful mountains of the Pacific Northwest and photography.
